DUAL PRICING/CASH DISCOUNT FOR CC AT CHECKOUT

DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST

Add Cash Discount to checkout.

There should be a Surcharge/Cash Discount percentage field in credit card settings where the percentage can be set and a toggle to set it as either a surcharge (+3%) or Discount (-3%). This field should be used to surcharge/discount the Order Total calculated at checkout.

If Cash Discount, Display Cash and Non-Cash price on Cashier & Customer Display. Cash tender should display Order Total - Discount price, all other tenders "regular price" Allow manual override with proper security level to add Discount for non-cash tenders.

If Surcharge, Display only "regular Price" on Customer Display until an EMV or EBTCash tender is selected. EMV & EBT Cash tender should display Order Total + Surcharge price, all other tenders "regular price" Allow manual override to remove surcharge from EMV & EBT Cash tenders

Surcharge amount should be sent separately to payment api for card binning if available. Response from API should update surcharge availability based on response. If debit card response, remove surcharge.

Cash Discount [Preferred Method]

A cash discount is given when businesses offer reduced prices to customers who pay with cash. The Point of Sale must calculate the cash discount amount based on the Processing Percentage set in the credit card settings. All listed pricing should be the elevated to non-cash price (+3%). (Example: Merchant adds 3% to all current pricing then offers a 3% cash discount at checkout.)

Point of Sale should calculate the Discount and show both prices side by side at checkout for cashier including customer facing display.

Dual Pricing [More Setup]

Dual Pricing involves displaying both cash and non-cash prices with both options visible throughout the transaction process (ie: shelves, tags, invoices, pumps, checkout, etc.). (Example: All items have both prices listed side by side on the shelf/menu and checkout shows both totals for each item as well as the entire invoice.)

Surcharge [Not Allowed In Most States]

A surcharge refers to an added fee on an invoice, often listed as a service or processing fee. (Example: 3% service charge on invoice changes the Total of the invoice. Only one total displayed.)
